Flow Pressure
Posted on April 01, 2019
For the Design Week 2019 in Milan a group of students from the Masterstudio Design have developed a site-specific installation at «Din - Design In» in the Lambrate Design District.
«Flow Pressure» is a pneumatic structure inflated with compressed Swiss mountain air. The installation elicits a critical reflection around bubbles as abstract socio-economic forms of modern life by translating their iterations such as filter bubble, environmental bubble, economic bubble etc. in a physical and interactive experience.
Attracting visitors with the opportunity to take a breath of fresh mountain air during the buzz of the Design Week, «Flow Pressure» exposes the ambiguity of bubbles as illusions of safe havens, escapes from the complexities of modern life and the implausible and inconsistent promises about the future they carry.
