Entry requirements

Masterstudio Design welcomes applicants with a degree from a Swiss Academy of Art and Design or University of the Arts. Candidates with undergraduate or graduate degrees from a foreign University or College do qualify likewise.

We encourage also graduates with majors in art and design related humanities and technical subject areas. Transfer from an accredited academic institution is possible and will be verified on a case-by-case basis. Applications «sur dossier» are subject to separate assessment.

Teaching languages are English and German. CEFR level B2 or a comparable demonstration of the mastery of the English language is required. In addition we encourage English speaking candidates to acquire a basic knowledge of German of CEFR level A2 before enrollment or throughout the course of study. The program can be completed in either English or German.

Located at the new Campus of the Arts, the FHNW Academy of Art an Design offers state-of-the-art workshops, a variety of labs, a media library, and many more inspiring and productive facilities accessible 365 days of the year round the clock for all students.
