Voile au Vent

von Céline Daendliker

This project was featured in the Musée Château de Malmaison during the "Journées européennes des métiers d'arts" 2019. https://musees-nationaux-malmaison.fr/chateau-malmaison/evenement/c-journees-europeennes-des-metiers-dart-2019 The desk "Voile au vent" is destined to be used by a telecommuter who is suffering from back problems and has chosen to work at home. The desk contains three main elements: the working surface, the mechanical system and the legs. The working surface is made out of a light panel BANOVA + covered in leather. A gallery made of sapelli veneer plywood is placed in the back and prevents objects from falling down. The user grips the belt and the pulls it to the left or the right to change the surface’s height without too much effort. The halved joint assembly of the Sapelli plywood legs is inspired by the boat construction technique, which makes it both robust and light. Materials : BANOVA +, sapelli plywood, leather, aluminium, steel.
